Holiday Home Sale
The Holiday Home Sale is a Medfield Garden Club tradition always held on the first Saturday in December. Club members gather greens and spend the entire week before the sale preparing a wide range of table top displays, festive arrangements, porch and doorway decorations, gift ideas, specialty wreaths and swags, everything for holiday decorating needs.
During the week before the Holiday Home Sale, the club also prepares and donates three large wreaths for the Medfield Town House, creates and decorates smaller wreaths for all the Library doors and festoons the Town Gazebo with swags and red ribbons. Medfield Garden Club planters and containers on the town’s highways and byways are transformed from being filled with fall flowers and foliage to brimming with crisp evergreens and holiday flourishes.
Holiday Home Sale doors open at 10:00 AM at the Unitarian Church, 26 North Street in Medfield. We encourage the community to arrive early for best selection. Proceeds help support the Medfield Garden Club’s mission of conservation, community beautification and education.
Art ’N Bloom
Art ’N Bloom brings springtime to the Medfield Public Library every March. The event is an annual collaboration with the Medfield High School Visual Arts Program and the Medfield Garden Club. The exhibit, a perennial favorite of many in the community to chase away the winter blues and welcome spring, runs for four days at the Medfield Public Library. Medfield Garden Club members choose a piece of artwork created by a Medfield High School student and then members interpret that artwork as a floral arrangement. The artwork and floral interpretation is displayed as Art ’N Bloom at the Library.

Annual Plant Sale
The Medfield Garden Club was founded in 1933, and from its earliest days, the Plant Sale was a major fundraiser for the club’s civic beautification projects and educational programming in the community. The first Plant Sales were held at the Grange Hall which later became the Legion Hall. Those early plant sales also included flower shows and baked goods.
Today, the Medfield Garden Club Plant Sale is usually the third Saturday in May, and features perennials from members’ gardens, including many varieties of flowering and foliage plants, edibles, succulents and annuals. Massachusetts Master Gardeners are often on hand to offer advice for plant selection and care.
Proceeds from the Plant Sale help to support the Medfield Garden Club’s year-round seasonal beautification at numerous public buildings, intersections and entry points in the town. The club maintains twenty-three planters and garden sites and decorates town buildings with holiday greens and wreaths. A spring favorite is the Medfield Garden Club’s partnership with the Medfield High School Art Department to create Art ‘N Bloom. Members of the Medfield Garden Club also volunteer to bring garden therapy to the residents of the Thomas Upham House and to provide special holiday arrangements to Medfield Meals on Wheels clients.
The Plant Sale doors open at 9:00 AM at the Unitarian Church, 26 North Street in Medfield.
