Message from the President
Thank you for putting your trust in me to help guide you through the 2024-25 season of the
Medfield Garden Club. I hope that we will have a Co-President on board to work with me in the
new year.
Our Program Co-Chairs have scheduled a wonderful line-up of presenters. At our annual luncheon in June we voted to return to the United Church of Christ for our monthly meetings in September, October, November, February, March and April on the second Wednesday of the month. Our January meeting will continue to be a Zoom-only meeting in the evening. In May, our meeting will be an evening one at The Center in Medfield. We will continue to open our monthly meetings to the community when appropriate.
Our Holiday Stroll/Holiday Home sale on December 6th and 7th will also be held at the United Church of Christ on Main Street. At the September meeting there will be sign-up sheets to indicate how you would like to help with these two events (many hands make light work!). Our spring plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 17th, at the First Parish UU Church on North Street.
These two events were very successful this past year, which will enable us to use a portion of the money raised to fund a special event in the Spring of 2025.
Aside from our monthly meetings and our two fundraisers, there are many other opportunities
for you to get involved in Club activities: the Bloom Brigade, the Garden Therapy program at the Thomas Upham House, providing flower arrangements for Meals on Wheels, helping with a short program for The Club (the Center’s respite care program) and Art in Bloom. Also, Pop Up events have become very popular with members. If you would like to organize a Pop Up, please let me know.
We are always looking to recruit new Garden Club members. Please spread the word to your friends and invite them to one of our monthly meetings, have them accompany you to a Pop Up, and tell them about the Holiday Stroll/Holiday Home Sale and Spring Plant Sale.
I hope all of you have had an enjoyable summer and am looking forward to seeing you at our
upcoming meetings.
Phyllis
