The Medfield Garden Club was organized in 1933 for the purpose of community beautification, conservation and education. The club currently has nearly one hundred members and new members are always welcome. All that’s needed to join the Medfield Garden Club community is a love of gardens and nature and a willingness to share in the work of the club.
The Medfield Garden Club maintains twenty-three civic plantings and decorates town buildings with holiday greens and wreaths. A perennial spring favorite is the Medfield Garden Club’s partnership with the Medfield High School Art Department to create Art ‘N Bloom for the community. Members of the Medfield Garden Club also volunteer to bring garden therapy to the residents of the Thomas Upham House and provide special holiday arrangements to Medfield Meals on Wheels clients.
The Medfield Garden Club’s informational meetings are open to the public and cover a broad range of topics from soil testing and ecology, to native plants and pollinators, sustainable gardening and harvesting, to locally grown food and container gardening. We offer ten monthly meetings per year, hands-on workshops, small group Learning Circles in which members share their talents and knowledge at small demonstrations on a variety of topics, excursions to garden centers, nurseries, private gardens and field trips.
Our dues are $35 per year. Contact us for more information about the Medfield Garden Club or learn how you can become a member.
Our expectations for your membership are several: you should have an interest in gardening or gardens. We ask that you serve on one Hospitality team per year, usually to provide beverages and/or snacks, at regular meeting or fundraiser work days, and that you serve on one working committee or special event.
