Community-wide Program
Wednesday, 6:30 PM Doors open 7:00 PM Presentation starts
The Center at Medfield, One Ice House Road, Medfield, MA
Please join the Medfield Garden Club for a presentation by Stacey Lee on “Sustainable Floristry“.
Stacey is an experienced floral designer and sustainability advocate who owns and operates Paeonia Designs, a flower design company specializing in American and locally grown flowers and foliages.
Stacey’s professional civil engineering background in environmental engineering and storm water pollution prevention work brings a science and fact-based element to the “why” of sustainability in floral design. Stacey’s floral design experience includes over a decade of weddings, events, freelance, corporate and retail. They have been an invited professional for several area Art in Bloom events and designed large installations at both the MFA and the WAM.
The presentation will focus on flower and foliage sourcing from local and American farms, mechanics and armatures used to create large designs and how to use them together with new and innovative sustainable industry products. The presentation will include an introduction to sustainable flower and foliage sources, the foam-free design mechanics Stacey uses in large arrangement work and a live demonstration of putting them together.
Stacey will design 2 – 3 pieces while educating on the flower industry and telling flower stories. There will be time for questions at the end.
